Forever Home???

Hi I'm Cotton!

My foster Mom just went to bed so I decided to sneak into the computer room and update my own blog, let's keep that between us, OK?

I was listening to my foster Mom and foster Dad talk tonight although I was told not to eavesdrop. Anyway back to the story......my foster Mom told my foster Dad to say goodbye to me because I would be leaving very soon!Well let me tell you my ears perked straight up. I mean look in the past week I went from living in Alabama (no jokes please) to living in Georgia with 4 other greyhounds, a hairy yellow lab and a psycho cat. So needless to say I was a very nervous greyhound until I heard the words FOREVER HOME!!!!

If apears if everything goes alright when my Aunt Patti does a home visit on Thursday I will be adopted by a very nice couple on Saturday. Keep your paws crossed that the dream that I had last night comes true an this time next week I will be getting my tummy rubbed by my forever Mom and Dad!

Slurps and Licks,

Meet and Greet..........

Cotton is a star!!! She was exceptional at her first meet and greet. Now remember Cotton just came off the track late Saturday afternoon was taken on a 2 hour car ride to Georgia and brought into a house.

So Cotton woke up Sunday morning ate her kibble, played with a couple of toys and off we went for another hour long car ride to a arts and crafts festival. We also brought Starfire with us and he was just as wonderful. Anyway, as soon as Cotton got out of the car she was on stage! She walked straight to our tent and started WOWing the crowd. There was a wonderful woman that stopped by and took Cotton for a long walk through the crowd and the vendors and again Cotton was a ham! She loved all the attention!

By the end of the 5 hours Cotton was exhasted but she never turned down a good head and ear rub. There should be a picture of Cotton laying her head in my lap in the picture gallery section.

Cotton slept the entire way home! She ate her dinner and again played with a couple more toys and went to sleep for the rest of the night.

As I write this she is sound asleep by my feet.....I bet she is dreaming of her forever home! Are you the one who will give it to her???

The morning after.........

Cotton is the best house guest!! She got in her crate last night around 9pm and never said a word. She has to be the quietest greyhound I have ever been around. Usually the first night a greyhound comes off the track they will whine not Cotton she acted like she had lived here forever!

Cotton ate her breakfast and is great outside going potty. She loves the grass!!!

Cotton will defiantly need some help if she is adopted by a family with stairs although she was quick to follow her new friends and do what they did. The funny part about it is that she is just going up 1 stair!

Cotton found the toys this morning!!! She found the stuffed bone first, then a duck, then a goose and the last toy she had was a penguin.

Cotton is currently sleeping and resting up for her first meet and greet this afternoon. Hopefully she will meet her forever family.

Waiting.........

Guy and I are getting our first true foster, Oakland Cotton tomorrow. I will be traveling over to Birmingham Saturday afternoon to pick up Cotton and Starfire. Cotton is a beautiful black girl with very soulful eyes. Now I don't know about you but a black dog named Cotton just doesn't seem right so once she arrives we will try to determine a new name!

Her crate is all set up and I have explained to my four greys that Cotton is only here for a very short time. So keep checking Cotton's blog for updates and think about giving this beautiful girl a forever home!
