Packing Up To Go Home

Hannah is doing great!  She’s motivated by treats or praise which will help her follow commands after graduation.  She has no problem having her inmate trainer around her while she’s eating. While in her crate she will speak to other dogs that cross her kennel zone.  She loves to play with toys and can be a little hard headed with her favorite toy.  Exchanging a treat for a toy can work to change her mind.

Her inmate trainer has enjoyed his time with sweet Hannah.  While he’s sad to see her go he’s happy that she’ll be gaining a forever home!

Prepare to Fall in Love

Hannah is a sweet girl who loves to be kissed and hugged on.  Her inmate trainer hopes that her new family is ready to lose their hearts to this sweet girl!  He says that Hannah is easy to train and knows all of her basic commands really well.  He usually treats her after she performs her commands and she seems to enjoy the yummy reward.

Hannah likes to watch her trainer before she eats, so they made it a game to have her focus on him and not the food.  He says that Hannah has not displayed any aggression while eating.  He has worked with her by petting her and touching her bowl while she eats.  (Just a friendly reminder that she and her inmate trainer have bonded and she trusts him not to steal her food. Always use caution while any animal is eating.)

Hannah's inmate trainer says he's going to miss this sweet girl, but knows that she is going to fill her forever home with lots of love and happiness.

Sweet and Adorable

Hellloooo world Hannah here!  We had swap week this week.  This means we got to spend some time with different inmate trainers.  My temporary inmate trainer says that I’m a very sweet girl who loves to socialize!  I showed him that I know all of my basic commands as well as a few extras.  I know all of commands with verbal only cues and many of them with hand signal only direction.  I’m not too sure about jumping, but we will continue to work on this one. I love to run free and take brisk walks.  My favorite toy is a Kong Wubber.  Honestly I can get pretty zoned out with my Wubber.  Time just files when I’m chewing on that thing!

I do have a bit of sleep startle, but my trainer is working with me on that and I am improving.  It’s just scary to suddenly wake up and it takes me a few minutes to orient myself.  I’m thankful that my inmate trainer is helping me out with this.  I want to be the best when I go into my new forever home.  Paws down, I'm easy to love so I bet you'll fall head over heels in love with me pretty fast.

Princess Hannah

Hannah has had a wonderful week!  She has perfected all of her basics and is performing like a professor!  Well, she’s still not crazy about that jump command.  She’s a princess and it’s impolite for one of her stature to make such giant ungraceful leaps.  Her inmate trainer continues to work on changing her mind and showing her that flying through the air is truly a graceful and magnificent action.  Maybe he should show her photos of ballerinas?

Hannah enjoys being outside playing and around humans!  Mainly because they give her the proper amount of praise and attention, you know, for one of her grand stature.  Her inmate trainer has not found any aggressive behaviors or reactions.  He says that she is a loving dog who’s going to make a wonderful pet for some very lucky family.

Learning the Extras

Hannah has had a great week!  She now knows all of her basic commands and a few extras!  She and her inmate trainer will now be spending time perfecting everything.  She’s also been learning to put her toys in the toy box and the "bang" command!  She walks really well on the leash and is happy to learn!

Hannah’s inmate trainer says that Hannah hasn’t shown any aggression with food or toys.  He believes that she is going to make a wonderful pet!

Discovering Toys

Hannah has had an awesome week!  She knows all of her basic commands and her inmate trainer is working on two extra commands with her - circle and paws up.  Circle is where she circles around her trainer and paws up is where she puts her paws on whatever you tell her to.  She’s a little slow responding to kennel, stay, and jump but her inmate trainer knows that she’ll have these figured out soon enough.

She has not shown any signs of aggression with toys or food!  She didn’t really know what a toy was at first, but has discovered that they’re great fun!

Hannah’s inmate trainer says that this great dog is going to make some lucky family very happy!

Spinning Greyhound

Hannah has had a wonderful week.  She knows all of her commands except jump which they continue to work on.  Now it is time to perfect them all and learn extra commands.

Speaking of extra commands, this week Hannah has learned how to spin.  This is where she will spin in a circle in front of you.  She learns so fast!

She really enjoys her training practices and just loves to relax and spend time with her peeps!  She's quite a character who keeps everyone in stitches most of the time!

Good Girl!

Hannah has done very well this week.  She knows all her basic commands except "stay" which they continue to work on.  Her inmate trainer is convinced they will have this command nailed within a week.

Her inmate trainer has not experienced any aggressive behavior with Hannah - none at all!  She is a very sweet girl!  She loves being with people and enjoys just laying around on her bed.  She is taking retirement seriously, it seems!

Her training is going as well as can be expected.  She doesn't like to jump but most don't.  She enjoys treats so it makes it easier to train her.

Her inmate trainer just adores her!

What a Wonderful Girl!

Hannah has had a great week!  She has learned the bed, down, wait, and hurry commands very well!  She walks with a loose leash.  Her inmate trainer is working on the hardest command for Greyhounds, sit.  It’s hard for them to sit with all of those muscles!

Hannah loves people and receiving attention.  Her inmate trainer says that she’s still not very treat motivated yet.  He doesn’t believe that she’ll have any problems learning her commands as she’s doing really well already!  He is hoping that she’ll come around to enjoying toys soon.  She seems curious about them, but is not sure what to do with them.

Her inmate trainer says that Hannah is a truly wonderful loving girl!

Training Time

Hannah has entered the prison training program!  Her inmate trainer says that she is a wonderful dog who loves to be around people.  So far she doesn’t seem to be very treat motivated, but this could change or maybe lots of praise and attention are more important to her.  Her trainer says that Hannah is very smart and he can’t wait to see what all she learns in the days to come!  He has no doubt that she’s going to be a wonderful pet for some lucky family.
